(FOX 11) A rapid vegetation fire broke out Friday afternoon in the Cajon Pass, burning several vehicles stopped on the I-15 Freeway and forcing mandatory evacuations in the area.
Early reports indicated there were at least five burn victims reported.
The blazed, which has been dubbed "North Fire" on social media, was reported at about 2:30 p.m. and had spread to about 50 acres by 3 p.m., the San Bernardino County Fire Department stated.
The drones have to stop to keep ff and public safe. They can't fly if you do! #NorthFire #drone #firefighter pic.twitter.com/wSf8hToY3B WFF (@wffoundation) July 17, 2015

Watching it on local news now. Crazy. So far no one hurt.
reports of burn victims.
It's going to be a long hot summer.
Watching the coverage as well(Its on every station here) the Cajon Pass has had many fires in the past, not sure why cars were allowed to go by when the fire started, I just hope that everyone in those cars got out in time
Timely reporting - thank you.
Should not be surprised FR breaking news / updates better than lame stream media / npr KPCC.
Hope people successfully fled those burning cars - terrifying to be in stopped traffic in such inferno 451+F heat and no where to run.
Prayers up.
Can’t tell if that FedEx is Red Orange or what, if it’s FedEx /Express Division, it almost certainly has some hazmat on board.
I have been watching this from the beginning something stinks to high heaven with this on
They had to suspend water bombers because of a drone also the fire seems to be staritng in many differnt cars like some a hole is walking around with road flares in a back pack tossing them in them
Watching this now. Wow-they are doing water drops right onto the burning cars.
Hope that truck isnt hauling illegal contraband.. or illegals.-8
That is what caught my attention. If the fire cross into the highway, why are some cars not and others are. It seems like you said someone is intentionally setting those cars and trucks on fire. Something about this fire just doesn’t seem right. Also why wasn’t the highway blocked off when the fire started? I understand there are some burn victims.
I pray that this is not a terrorist attack, but one never knows with these muzzies.
That pass is a traffic nightmare..combine Friday afternoon with fire..disaster! People driving home from work, Vegas for weekend. Wow
Incredible!
Pray for the safety of those caught in this hell fire!
I’m watching live video covering this.
I had to drive through that very area just a month ago and was stuck in heavy, crawling, traffic on Cajon Pass for over two hours. Add fire? What a nightmare.
Dry vegetation and high winds can drive/create fires hundreds of yards from the main fire.
Wanted to add that it’s hot today..probably 90’s up there. Horrible for those people stuck.
