Alaska Gov. Bill Walker (I) on Thursday announced that he will expand Medicaid under ObamaCare.
With the move, Alaska will become the 30th state to accept the expansion. After the White Houses victory on ObamaCare in the Supreme Court last month, President Obama said he will renew pressure on the remaining Republican-controlled states to expand the program.
Walker, elected in 2014, campaigned on Medicaid expansion, but was met with opposition in the Republican-controlled legislature. On Thursday, though, he announced that he will go around the legislature and expand the program even without its approval.

Walker really doesn’t want to be POTUS. A shame he is half conservative and half hiding what else he is.
Take control of this uber fascist, legislators of Alaska.
Teach this PUNK a lesson.
What else is he to do.... except succeed.. if possible..
Which is the ONLY remedy... SUCCEED or shut up and get with the program..
I’m in the SUCCEED Camp.. screw them all and the Ship of State they came in on..
Uncle Sam is a commie “Bitch”....
My conspiracy theory is that this is being done because the media will just ID “Governor Walker” in headlines and Scott Walker will end up taking the rap.
You won’t go broke underestimating how sleazy they are.
Hell....already happened upstream!!
Wrong Walker, bub
This is the former Dem turned Independent that Sarah Palin endorsed for Governor, right?
I thought he was a Republican turned independent, but yup, this guy is in office thanks largely to Palin's endorsement. Without it the Republican, Parnell, would almost certainly have won. Palin thought Parnell was too beholden to "big oil".
Walker was republican in the primary until his chances improved by joining the democrat running for governor. He changed his affiliation to the “Unity” ticket supported by the unions and natives. The head of the AFL CIO made sure that he got the vote of the socialists in exchange for his loyalty. The democrat is his Lt Gov and the AFL CIO call the shots. Yes, Sarah endorsed him over Parnell, her ex Lt Gov.
As maybe her biggest recent achievement (aside from whatever realityTV she’s doing), I’d chalk that up to a pretty miserable failure. She basically helped elect a guy who is going to help advance Obamacare, all because Parnell was supposedly going to cozy up with “big oil”. Good grief, that sounds like something a Democrat would say.
