Even back then they were the ones with the closed operating system: the only thing you could get was software that was approved by the powers that be, i.e. Apple.

The "evil" Microsoft was actually closer to being the good guy because they had an open OS that pretty much anyone could program to.

IF you knew how to program!!!!

And Microsoft still has a stranglehold on the office software market (even if you use a Mac). There are other products,but you can’t use them to communicate with your partners/clients, etc.

I’ve used a Mac since 1984. But I do not use the other Apple products, especially not the frou-frou “gay” inspired ones!!!!

Since Apple marketing is geared to the “high-design” market, they tend to ignore conservative Mac-only customers like me (except for the business account people at my local Apple Store).
