Exactly. The flag AND the statue are only symbols and nothing more. They are only offensive if you attach meaning and give them power in your mind. I personally don't give a damn about the statue...it has no meaning to me. Banning the flag, on the other hand, is an infringement on my personal liberty.

In a city like Detroit, that statue won’t last long before some “entrepreneurs” dismantle it and take it in to a metal scrap facility and collect the cash.
We are experiencing the Bible. It always seemed astonishing that Israel would turn to Baal and other idols. We see first hand how it comes to pass. When a people or nation reject God, it is like they have to rub God’s face in it, by making sure He sees what they are turning to. They don’t just say there is no God and go on.
