It would look different if the south would have won. And Jeff Davis might not have been very nice, but Robert E. Lee would have be magnanimous. The Southerners, in truth were very similar to the northerners.
many were classmates, former coworkers, and family members.

Were they/are we not all Americans? Had the South prevailed how would world history have been affected? Would there have been a First World War and would a Balkanized America stayed out of it or would some states supported one side or the other? The Confederacy itself at the time was a tenuous entity at best. And would there have been a Second World War and an Adolph Hitler? Again, how would a fractured have dealt with Nazism?

Elaborate if you would on just how different America would look. To me we’d be a Balkanized nation and certainly not the worlds super power.
