I voted no on cloture because we should have insisted on amendments to put real teeth in this bill. Ultimately, I voted yes on final passage because [1] it may delay, slightly, President Obamas ability to lift the Iran sanctions and [2] it ensures we will have a Congressional debate on the merits of the Iran deal.
No bill passes this Senate 98-1 unless there is no better option. 0bama was going to use executive action to lift sanctions and this bill forces that to be delayed for 60 days while Congress very publicly debates how awful this historic surrender to Iranian mullahs is. And H has now come out with "full throated" support herself. Wrap that around her neck like an albatross right now.
And pray that 13 democrat senators will vote for Country over party. My guess is that even the likes of Schmucky will have many constiuents telling him to vote against 0bama and his Iranian buds on this.
