GOP presidential candidates Jeb Bush and Donald Trump are locked in a virtual tie for the 2016 Republican nomination, according to a Reuters-Ipsos poll released Saturday.
It found that 16.1 percent of self-identified Republicans back Bush, the former governor of Florida.
Trump, a New York business mogul, chases Bushs lead with 15.8 percent support.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie came in third 9.5 percent of possible voters backing.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is next at 8.1 percent, followed by retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson at 7.2 percent.
Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker widely expected to enter the 2016 field Monday earned 5.8 percent.

Walker doesn’t do well with Independents. But he will take GOP support from Bush, not Trump. Good news.
nothing the left would like more than to see a Trump/Jeb ticket
New Hampshire polling from last weekend is being held back because Trump is now leading.
Cruz is seemingly CHAINED UP on this issue. The tough questions-will trump dump a considerable amount of the 40mil or not? Will Trump dump UN resettlement refugee scams or not?
Santorum actually has a very good record on immigration and gets it on legal -a two for one special but will he be a skull crusher on foreign nation-states and trade deals including their dropping off of criminals in the USA. Lots of details need to emerge.
More evidence that Trump and Jeb are practically the same candidate.
But Bush seems so dull to me. He doesn't inspire me.
When I see or hear him on tv, sorry, but I feel like I need to take a nap.
A lot of Republicans support Bush because Republicans are not what you think they are.
JEB???
I guess that the American People will never learn. That’s why we also have a Clinton aspiring to be POTUS. America truly deserves its “leaders”.
I notice Cruz always defends Trump. Smart move, Trump is attacking Rubio, Jeb and Perry, why not support Trump doing Ted’s work for him.
Trump doesn’t like Carly, and Ted is Hispanic, a vote Trump can demonstrate he isn’t biased against if he picks Ted as his running mate.
Jeb is only winning with Republicans. But Trump is winning in this poll when they show both results for both Republicans and Independents who vote Republican.
Really bad news for Jeb. He needs Independents to win New Hampshire and they don’t like him.
“Maybe you were thinking of Steve Windwood? “
Or even Steve Winwood ??
Cruz is leading in the polling in Texas. Bush is doing poorly.
It will be interesting to see what Trump poll numbers will look like in Texas in the next few weeks.
Uhuh yeah right.
At least maybe Trump will get the GOP to harden it’s “come on in” strategy on illegals.
Bush just suddenly called for defunding sanctuary cities, after calling Miami a model sanctuary city for more than a decade!
Trump is hammering Perry. And Perry if I remember right didn’t back Ted in the Republican primary so Ted isn’t a big Perry fan either.
I am surprised Perry polls well. I am surprised some polls ever showed Rubio in the lead. This emphasis on Immigration will bury both Jeb and Rubio.
Walker meanwhile is getting the Romney rep for flip flopping.
Trump is in Nevada today seeking some of Rand Pauls Libertarian support at a big party gathering.
One thing for sure, it takes someone with Trump’s media savvy and money to take on the GOPe and their Chamber of Whores anti America Illegal Alien friends.
What I expect it Trump will get his share of businessmen
backing his campaign because Trump would get this economy running much better.
A scenario where Cruz serves 10 years as President.
Trump serves the first 6 years and resigns after the 2 years as Pres in 2nd term to go back to business. Cruz takes the last 2 years and wins the next two presidential elections for a total of 10 yrs.
The Left are committed to the nut houses and the rest self deport to Jupiter to join with Cher in her new home planet. :-)
I support Cruz and he’s being smart not to burn any bridges with Trump at this time.
