Trump leads the GOP pack this week, though few think he will win the nomination
The Republican horserace continues to be a contest of multiple candidates with frontrunners sometimes ahead by only a few points, and no one dominating the race. In this weeks Economist/YouGov Poll, businessman Donald Trump leads among Republicans, ahead of Kentucky Senator Rand Paul, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker.
I guess not apologizing for telling the truth has its benefits. He struck a chord with his comments about illegal aliens and many Americans see that.
I guess getting the media to incessantly promote you has benefits. But name recognition lead won’t last long.
For the moment. This too shall pass.
Does anyone know his positions on abortion, 2nd amendment, etc.?
Trump is saying what a lot of Americans know to be true! Everybody including the party should listen.
Do not dismiss him out of hope that he will go away. He won't!
Wow. I agree it won't last, but even to get there for a month does say something about how none of the other candidates are addressing issues that are key to many voters. Or is it the emotional tone of Trump.
Cruz has similar positions on the hot-button topic of immigration, without the baggage of borderline rude comments.
What he hasn't shown is the fiery anger and shoving back against the press hard.
This poll seems a little different from most others, so it's a little anomalous.
Rand Paul tied for second w/ Jeb? Haven't seen that anywhere else.
He is pro-life and considers the 2nd amendment very important. When he announced he did mention God, so there’s that too.
If so, then let it be a teachable moment for the other clowns.
Huh?
A poll of a bunch of folks say he will win but few think he will win? So the poll is wrong? Or was it a poll that polled people that will vote for Trump that won't vote for Trump?
What?
Does this mean that all the Democrats that say they won't vote for Trump will? LOL!
The amusement continues....
The well connected party insiders said that over two weeks ago hoping it would stick.
And if they succeed in silencing Trump what you'll get is more of the same. Violent lawless open borders, trade deals which screw Americans and favor the other side, chaotic reckless foreign and domestic policies etc. All of which are seriously looting the American treasure.
We haven’t had a politically-incorrect President since Reagan. So, it looks like we might have a chance to get another one again.
Pro 2nd Amendment.
Bush’s comments today about the American’s needing to work longer hours per day is not exactly a winning statement.
And poll results so far mostly reflect what Trump has been saying about illegal immigration. He hasn’t said too much about all the one-sided trade deals that have caused the “giant sucking sound” of US factories and jobs leaving for cheap labor nations.
When The Donald really starts hitting on that in more detail, there will be another apocalyptic conniption fit thrown by the big donors and their GOPe puppets and prostitutes in DC and the media propagandists.
And a vote on TPP could well come up before the end of this year, while monthly debates are ongoing. More uproars to come.
Probably not and he's not my guy anyway. Still he can give lessons to the Republicans on how to get a message out. They have been sorely deficient on that since at least 2000.
Happy that anyone has taken the leadership away from Jeb. The lat thing the GOP needs is to be stuck playing defense in support of Jeb-the-Leader. Make the donks defend Hitlery Clitler.
Trump on the issues. Got this link from another FR post.

The stuffed suits are saying Trump does not represent the Republican party. They’re right, he represents the people. Exactly as it should be.
I don’t particularly like Trump, but I think he’s right, he’s saying what he thinks and it resonates with the voters, it’s what they think and I think he’ll pull a surprising number of Democrats too, because he’s saying what they think. Like him or not, if he gets the nomination he’ll get my vote.
