Wondering if Sons/Daughers of Conferedacy have plans of puttng up huge flag on private property near interstate 26, 77 or 95, like on I95 near Fredricksbrug VA or I75 near Tampa Bay.
Will not vote for any Presidential ticket that carries Nikki Haley or any ticket with her name.
The Confederate flag could easily rise again as an important symbol for slavery...a new slavery...a symbol of the huge loss of individual freedoms we are all experiencing daily. That the Confederate flag is already seen as a symbol for slavery by the people , and now having it banned, is a perfect storm for this as a new symbol for these times. It is coming to represent the new nanny state slavery ... PC, invasive personal rules, foods we cannot eat, the taking over of mud puddles in our back yards, banning coal for global warming (a hoax)..... the list is long and growing longer each day. I have purchased a Confederate flag ... and when SC takes it down from the Confederate Memorials (the only place it is flying on government land) that will be the signal for me to begin flying the flag protesting my own personal Neo-slavery. Yes I live in SC, but I am from Indiana ... so this isnt a southern thing. This flag, showing up in the north would be even more symbolic. I do believe this symbol for slavery will rise again, protesting a kind of slavery equally as dangerous as with no Lincoln in the wings to set us free. And once again, history is proving the liberals and Democrats are the slave masters as they have always been throughout history."
Excellent post and bears repeating.
Today, the Confederate Flag represents a valiant fight against tyranny and oppression, and of course, slavery.
I think I will fly the Confederate flag on that day they outlaw it every year.
With the issues of gay cakes, people push out of the military, insults for my religious beliefs at work, and harassments for not approving of gay relationships, I am not certain if the US Flag is my flag anymore. I am not sure if the republican party is my party anymore.
Why there? Why not in Charleston?
Yes, as Farrakhan already suggested - the US flag is racist, so it should go, too!
I’m confused ( and a northerner, not good at southern history)....but wasn’t this flag raised by a democrat 50 years ago? And was he a KKK member or not?
People should fly the Bonnie Blue.
No one has a clue what it is - yet.
I have a VERY emphatic friend who adores the Confederacy and long since started pushing anyone who felt the same, or felt resentment for the way the history is handled, to get Bonnie Blue Flags. (Yes, he gladly shows all Confed flags but pushed the idea for anyone wanting to “slip it in” there.)
The reason the democrats want that flag down (which had nothing to do with the church murder, but "never waste a good crises") is because it's a democrat flag, and they want all history of it removed lest their slaves start asking questions about it.
Council Votes To Move Nathan Bedford Forrest's Remains (Tennessee)
He was a pledged delegate from Tennessee to the New York Democratic national convention of 4 July 1868. He served as the first Grand Wizard (head of movement) of the Ku Klux Klan.
Again, another part of the democrats history has to be removed lest their slaves start asking questions.
See, this is the problem, as stated above in a post about China - the media says and displays errant and misleading things.
Not once have I seen them show an honest photo giving the context.
I HAVE seen the memorial in question shown, but cannot see the flag. Also the flag is zoomed in, so you can’t see the memorial.
Then half the time the media shows an old pix of the ‘60s of the flag ON the state house (inappropriate). Hence the Chinese think it’s up there. But that was 50 years ago, and it came down a while back.
The flag in question is with a MEMORIAL to Confeds on the GROUNDS of the SH.
Does anyone even remember when this started? Do they think there will be no more racist shootings? Well, there won’t be. Black people will still murder white people at disproportionate rates.
Thx...did the flag on statehouse come down just recently or before the church murders?
Politically Correct fascist book burning.
Traitorous, slimeball cowards. Once again republicans running scared of race-baiters and democrats. Will this ever stop? No, and that is exactly the reason Hillary Clinton will be elected president of the United States. Republicans and democrats have merged. There is not one bit of difference in the parties any longer. These worthless republicans are going right along in state after state in destroying any semblance of Southern history in the war that tore this country apart in the mid 19th century. Exactly what communists do when they take over a country. Sick a fork in this once a great country because it does not exist any longer. We are nation of cowards wimps and freaks. The American flag is next.
Great post. No matter how these liberals and turncoat GOP try, they will never destroy the Southern spirit. I hope these parasites receive the ultimate payback in the form of deadly vengeance. All it takes is leadership. We need a leader.
“The article correctly points out that flying the “Confederate flag” has nothing to do with honoring Confederate veterans or with southern pride. It is a product of the Democrat KKK of the 1950’s.”
As someone whose family is from the South and who grew up in the South, you don’t know what you are talking about. I have an ancestor who was a prominent Rebel under Quantrill and every year a Confederate Veteran’s group places small Rebel flags on his grave (a practice which will soon be outlawed in this god forsaken country.)
You obviously do not know anything about the south of the people who had ancestors who fought under the flag then.
Here in NE FL I have seen so many more battle flags go up.
Yes they have and plan more. The 3 major routes into FL have massive battle flags flying. I-10, I95, I 75
The original poster is correct. The flag was only adopted by State governments in the late 50’s and early 60’s when Democrats decided to display it or incorporate it into their state flags as a protest against desegregation. The flag did not have a role in official State government before then. There is a difference between use of the flag by private organizations, and official sponsorship by the State. This action was about State sponsorship only.
