* (The city of Fairbanks has been removed from the Sanctuary Cities list due to the city council’s passage of a resolution supporting a formal recognition of its cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency. Anchorage being on the list is not an issue. In Alaska, all correctional facilities are state operated. I used to send federal prisoners to Anchorage Jail all the time based on ICE detainers. The Municipality of Anchorage had no say in the matter. What happened in San Francisco isn't about to happen in Alaska.
