Perry: Trump ‘Offensive’ Remarks Don’t ‘Represent’ the GOP
Breitbart ^ | 07/05/15 | Pam Key

Posted on 07/05/2015 8:14:48 AM PDT by Enlightened1

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos,” former Texas Governor and Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry said Donald Trump’s remarks about Mexican immigrants being rapist and criminals were “offensive.”

Addressing Trumps criticism of his handling of border security Perry said “I don’t think he understands the challenge, obviously.”

Perry continued, “The fact is, I have said clearly that Donald Trump does not represent the Republican Party. I was offended by his remarks. Hispanics in America and Texas, from the Alamo to Afghanistan have been extraordinary people, citizens of our country and of our state. They have served nobly and to paint with that broad of a brush, like Donald Trump did, he’s going to have to defend those remarks. I never will. And I will stand up and say those were offensive, which they were.”

Truth is many times offensive. Pack it up Perry and go away.

Whether its possible or not, maybe the DC establishment’s next move will be to push Trump out of the Republican party.

Strange. People who mock the idea of a trump presidency put Obama in power. Just another reason the world doesn’t take us seriously. How in the world was it possible for a man like Obama to become President of the United States of America?

" (notice how the media doesn’t cover that of course)"

They don't yet see Cruz as an imminent threat.

Be aware: Trump has landed some heavy blows and the GOPe is staggered and hanging on for the bell.

They only have one or two more rounds left in them and they're going for the knockout.

Trump is the existential target. If they get him, Cruz will be easy.

Perry’s pro-Mexico, anti-American positions does not represent American views.

While what the Donald said had a number of elements of truth, it was not politically correct as judged by the faux-outrage leftists in the media. That said, it doesn't help his brand, nor that of the GOP. There are probably about a thousand different ways he could have said what he said in a kinder way.

" I don't need this crap I can just go back to living my life."

If he gives up now they will completely destroy him.

Once you strike the king, you must kill him.

And that's where Trump finds himself.

I do wonder if Trump knew just how important this issue was to both parties, the media, academia, Chamber of Commerce and Wall St and K st.

Did he know that nest was packed with 10,000 stinging hornets when he kicked it, or did he just luck out?

I'm starting to wonder if Gov. Scott Walker's meeting with Donald Trump was a finalization of an agreement to thin the herd before Walker's announcement, with Trump running interference by just being Trump, and the rest of the field being wimpy GOPe paper targets.

As it stands now, most of the field has done their best to attract Democrat voters to their cause which is a strategy doomed to failure. What roadmap gives you the electoral win splitting the liberal vote and no one campaigning for conservative votes?

Perry is "a man without a country"--

He plays up to the GOPe but they don't want him...

... conservatives don't want him.

He's wasting his time and donor's money.

Perry says what he thinks people want to hear.

“Perry who?”

You know, Rick Perry, former Texas Governor who wants to win the Republican President nomination by denigrating and using unethical tactics against his competitors. Why else would he hire the Barbour brothers, Henry and Austin, Haley’s nephews, who demonstrated the effectiveness of campaigning like democrats in the Mississippi Republican Senatorial primary runoff campaign of Thad Cochran.

He needs a new pair of glasses

He started wearing glasses to offset the image of class idiot during the last run for office. The glasses help his new intellectual image. The lenses are plain glass. The show must go on.

Hey, here’s a good question for ALL the GOP candidates: what DOES represent the Republican party?

OR

Please tell us YOUR Plan to deal with immigration. And let the chips fall where they may.

I think they are probably terrified right about now. They have a lot more caving to Obama to do this year, they want to increase spending, there are taxes to increase, and there are rumors they want to take another try at amnesty. If Trump’s following continues to swell, the rinos are going to have a very hard time.

And Percy’s refusal to protect Texas borders IS representative of the Republican Party.

What’s his point? That they’re right? No tgeyre losers. They just won an historic takeover of the senate after doing so with congress. And the democrats are in charge

He should say not representative of this group of LOSERS in the GOP

Americans despise wimps. You can go as far as to legalize and exalt PDA of military in uniform on a military base between two men an Americans will continue to abhor wimps. That’s because it is in our genes, written on our hearts and in keeping with the law of nature

All of these wimps are finished because I ally someone with enough money to overtake their own enormous collections from who knows where, the way they talk it has to be corporatists who’ve purchased these dorks

The electorate now has an example of guts. So it’s Donald trump so what.

These guys are done. Rubio going out there, ‘ok Marco, do what we’re paying you to do go out there and tell trump to zip it’

They are commenting about what they’ll do. Continue working for whoever pays them to keep them open

We need to wise up. Perry doesn’t have the money to run for president. Nor does Rubio

"Sadly Perry is right. Trump’s remarks don’t represent the GOP. The GOP is too busy caving to the cheap labor express and supporting illegals over citizens"

Post of the day...

I have been saying for eon's our field isn't that good. Go here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3232647/posts?page=14#14

Now Perry has jumped the shark, on top or Rubio earlier this week. I need to add Trump to my tagline, slim picken's folks...

No. Tgey font care about Hispanics. They pretend to buy the liberal line. Throws us off the track. Hispanics make up single digits in the electorate. Catholics make up a quarter of the electorate. Why wouldn’t they go after them?

No

"The GOPe are utter fools, all of them utter fools."

It reminds me of the '64 GOP primaries and race to the nomination.

The Republican Party HATED Goldwater and agreed with every aspersion the Democrats cast.

They even denounced him on the floor of the Cow Palace as the final tally of delegates were counted.

Today our chasm is even wider in this party. If it can even be called a party any more.
