My former pet peeve was when folks meant ‘concrete’ but said ‘cement.’ (cement is a fine gray powder)
That has been displaced by ignorance over what ‘Stars and Bars’ means. (fairly harmless ignorance, unlike the PC kind).

I’m with you ,, people don’t realize that asphalt is normally used as a concrete with aggregate... cement based concrete isn’t the only kind, concrete is not just a noun it’s a verb.
