"Americans who reduce their current income tax burden with retirement plan contributions, and I fear that will bite them in the arses when they retire."

Hey........That's me you're talking about. Although I have three kids. I have saved the maximum every year, as has my wife, in 401K Contributions for 33 years now.

Thanks for the " great job taking care of your own needs" talk.

OK; great job taking care of your own needs. I have children as well, but stopped my 401K contributions because I’d be putting groceries on credit cards. My retirement age has already been pushed back to 67, and I’m almost a quarter of a century away from reaching that. Rather than bemoan my lack of retirement savings, I focus on paying my current bills and reducing my debts; I firmly believe any savings would have been held against me at retirement. In fact, I believe they would also be held against my children in seeking any financial aid for college; this socialism pervades everywhere, and the race-based formulas must eventually fall in court (when Hispanics get 75% of college seats, leaving nothing for the perpetual victims, black Americans).

Did you not see the warning about means adjustment? When politicians openly say Social Security should not be viewed as a retirement plan but instead as a supplement, what do you think they intend to do?
