in my area, teachers are “laid” off in June....they apply and get unemployment and then just like magic, their positions are restored....nice little racket...
I believe they are only able to do that until they are tenured (employment for life); then they are ineligible for unemployment (and sometimes are paid over twelve months for their 180 days of work).
