Black Churches Burn Across the South
Truth Revolt ^ | 6.30.2015 | Mark Tapson

The Washington Post reports that six predominately black churches have burned in the last week in the wake of the Charleston church massacre perpetrated by a white supremacist. Currently arson is suspected in at least three of those fires.

The first fire came on June 21 when someone set fire to some hay bales outside the College Hill Seventh Day Adventist in Knoxville, Tennessee. The church sustained minor damage, and police said the fire is being investigated as arson but not as a hate crime.

Early June 23, God’s Power Church of Christ in Macon, Georgia, caught fire. Firefighters arrived to discover that the front doors were wired shut, so they had to enter through a side door. That incident was ruled an arson, though it's not yet determined that it was a hate crime.

Early the next day, Charlotte’s Briar Creek Road Baptist Church was set ablaze. It took more than 75 firefighters over an hour to get the fire under control and, by then, it had caused more than $250,000 worth of damage and demolished the church’s main building. A probe determined that the fire “was intentionally set.”

Two days later the Glover Grove Baptist Church in Warrenville, South Carolina, burned down. Police said no cause for the fire has been determined.

Two other churches caught fire last week as well — Fruitland Presbyterian Church in Gibson County, Tennessee, and the Greater Miracle Temple Apostolic Holiness Church in Tallahassee, Florida. Authorities believe the fires were caused by lightning and electrical wires, respectively, but they are still investigating.

“We want to be sure, 100 percent sure, that this was an accidental fire, not on purpose,” said Gibson County Fire Chief Bryan Cathey.

No churchgoers were injured in any of the fires.

Possibly not. The Charleston shooter mentioned a network of people who talked big but wouldn’t do anything.
Maybe they are starting to do.

Yeah, anybody systematically targeting churches is most likely a leftist.

H/T to our FRiend Fay for the post.

But burning a church in Wasilla AK, with the parishoners still inside, is just election-year politics...

Copycat "hate crimes"?

Or more false flags, like the hate crime "victims" who lie about their attackers?

Nationwide there are about 1500-1800 fires annually at churches.

That’s an average of 125 per month on the low end.

Unless The Washington Post has evidence that these fires represent a significant increase in the number of fire events at churches, then they need to stop trying to tie them to some upswing in “hate crimes”.

I believe there were at least 2 churches that burned in Detroit last week. One was ruled an arson almost immediately and the other is being investigated.

Neither has been suggested as a hate crime.

So....they loot and burn their own communities and no one thinks they would burn a few of their own churches to get more attention?

You may be right, I saw this Sunday morning on FOX. I saw the crawl once or maybe twice, then it disappeared.
At the time I had two thoughts.
1) Agent provocateur
or
2) It’s beginning.

Now you have added at third thought.
3) Maybe the media is trying to stir up a race war or possibly a second civil war.

Article admits half the fires were accidents. Disingenuous headline.

They can’t determine whether its a “hate” crime because they do not have a white suspect in custody. If its a black suspect than it can no longer be considered a “hate” crime.

"Macon-Bibb's fire chief says he still believes that a church fire last week was not a hate crime.

And an FBI spokesman says although they've opened a file on the God's Power Church of Christ, there's been no ruling that the fire was motivated by bias.

The Tuesday-morning fire caused heavy damage to the building on Cedar Avenue, off Mercer University Drive. Fire officials said last week that they believe the fire was set, but so far have not explained why. They did say the church was recently burglarized and its sound system was stolen."

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story......

Also, since a number of African American pastors are upset with last week's ruling on gay marriage, have they considered the possibility that that may be the motive for a certain activist group? Hmmmmmmmmm?

No one has? Must have been the Confederate flag then.

The irony is that not too long ago, in parts of the South, black churches, most of which were double wide trailers, were frequently burned by competing pastors from other black churches.

A case of too many churches and too many pastors, competing for the same potential congregants. It didn’t help that their congregants were a terribly fickle bunch, who would change churches for petty reasons.

Yet even then I noted that when such burnings happened, the media would invariably use a stock photo of a brick and wood white church.

Yep! In the style of Zimbabwe, or Chicago... Hell is there a difference any more?

Maybe it’s a repeat of 1996 when Bill Clinton used black churches burning in his reelection campaign so a bunch of left wingers burned churches to help B Clinton get reelected.

Or maybe it’s a bunch of the butt buddies that are mad at the black churches for speaking out against homo marriage.

Truly is amazing, whenever a Clinton runs for president there is always civil unrest.

Considering the fact these events keep repeating themselves whenever a Clinton runs for president, I can’t help but wonder when we start seeing “nooses” hanging everywhere like we did in 2007 when Hillary was running for president and it turned out it was all a bunch of left wingers hanging the nooses up.

There are a certain number of idiots that do this kind of thing. I knew the pastor of a church that was burned by an militant anti-theist.

The fact it’s a repeat of what was done during B Clinton’s reelection campaign isn’t just a coincidence.
