Any recomendations from anyone on a 12 gauge that that can do a decent job of doubling as home defense / Trap. New or used up to $500?

Just back from a fun round of shooting in the Lytel creek shooting range (So. Cal) I only have a 22 cal 1939 Remington pop gun,(Dads old gun) but buddies let me shoot Glock 9, 40 and 45, Ruger 22 competiton, some kind of wwII Egyptian 8mm Mouser, Browning O/U 20 gauge. Finally a 60+ year old Sears and Roebuck pump action 12 gauge. The group always ends the day with a 45 min round of Trap which is a “blast” and I’d like to not have to borrow a shotgun in the future.

Look at a Remington 870 pump gun. Affordable and reliable.
My new favorite is the Taurus Judge. Fires a .410 or a .45 long colt. Need to lean in to it, but in close quarters, can be very effective.
