The “Grid” is basically powered by fossil fuels (don't tell the libs). Texas has plenty of fossil fuels and can refine them. Texas has an independent power grid.
Texas, though, will have to contend with the open border situation.

Exact opposite. The left DOES NOT have control of these cities. Cities are death traps that depend heavily upon goods and services being successfully brought in from outside them just to maintain their existence.
Water and power and shipping cannot be defended sufficiently to insure the survival of cities. A small force could easily make cities uninhabitable at their current population levels, if it was of a mind to do so.
Hell, they have a hard enough time trying to keep the grid up when no one is trying to take it down.
