Despite the mostly inept and corrupt leadership since Giuliani left office, NYC is still one of the safest places in the world to be.
The additional police officers will make it even safer. But be aware what's driving this is not rising crime rate but the fact that a large percentage of the super-rich either already live or are in process of moving to Manhattan, as the unprecedented number of luxury residential high-rises demonstrates.
