I want to put up a middle finger when she says that Charleston is fake. Black lives are safer in Charleston than in progressive and enlightened Chicago and L.A. Gang crime is so much worse elsewhere in this country, but that doesn’t fit her desired narrative.
Yes the narrative is that people of color must flee the South. The South must be demonized as racist, forced to defend against a false narrative.
Some still preach the fantasy that South Carolina is the most racist state in the nation, I suppose they think it has to be because this is where secession began, they may know about or have seen the old slave market at Charleston so they think Charleston must be a bastion of white racism. Strangely enough if you go there you dont’ see all that racism.
