I think it was Rush who discussed a poll indicating that a large number of Americans believe that homosexuality is far more prevalent than it actually is. I've heard polls that peg it over 30%. Ten times higher than reality. Somewhat lower percentage than the number of gay in newsrooms pushing this crapola.

In this ongoing study, respondents are asked "Do you, personally, identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender?" with 3.8% being the most recent result, obtained from more than 58,000 interviews conducted in the first four months of this year (2015).
Check that Gallup poll.
