This was a case of "throwing gasoline on a fire?"

I think it was more like a case of lighting a campfire in one place ... while thousands of acres of forest was being been destroyed a few miles away.

Go back to my original statement on this thread.

How monumental could yesterday's Supreme Court decision really have been ... if what we know as "traditional marriage" has about a 50% failure rate already?

That tells me that marriage as an institution was doomed in this country a long time ago.

Not only that ... but I suspect many truly religious people don't concern themselves very much about yesterday's court decision because they never gave a sh!t about how governments and courts treated marriage under the law.

A Warning from Canada: Same-Sex Marriage Erodes Fundamental Rights

http://www.thepublicdiscourse.com/2015/04/14899/

Americans need to prepare for the same sort of surveillance-society in America (as is now in Canada) if the Supreme Court rules to ban marriage as a male-female institution.

It means that no matter what you believe, the government will be free to regulate your speech, your writing, your associations, and whether or not you may express your conscience.

Americans also need to understand that the endgame for some in the LGBT rights movement involves centralized state power—and the end of First Amendment freedoms.

Then your answer is to add to the train wreck and allow people of the same sex to wed? That's as patently ridiculous as allowing fathers to wed daughters, cowboys to wed horses.

The worthless Supreme Court has indeed taken another crap on the Constitution.

Canada does not have a Bill of Rights, which means they don't have a Second Amendment either. There are about 15-20 times more guns in the United States in the hands of private citizens than there are people in all of Canada.

The government of Canada can only get away with that sh!t because its people see themselves as subjects of the state rather than free citizens.

Haven't you figured this out yet? The U.S. Supreme Court didn't "redefine" marriage in their decision. They basically just eliminated any definition of marriage whatsoever. So now fathers can "wed" daughters (there might be very good practical reasons to do this for estate planning purposes), cowboys can "wed" horses, 35 men in an organized crime family can "marry" each other and protect themselves from being compelled to testify against each other, etc. The Supreme Court has simply taken a lid on institutionalized lunacy that was already open quite a bit, and pushed it all the way open.

Those of us who never had any faith in the U.S. government or its institutions are probably the ones who are least bothered by this. I suspect the ones who are most bothered by this are those well-meaning conservatives who are finally realizing that the Ayatollah Khomenei was right when he called the United States of America "the Great Satan."

Sorry, but if you are not able to see the further restrictions coming on free speech and religion, then you’re not paying attention.

It’s happening now...and will get even worse.

With SCOTUS becoming an arm of the CPUSA/DNC, the only remaining option to regain our freedom is CW2.
