Bush would have ignored it — and so? Laughing at it in public would say more than flying into a temper.

Bush was an absolute disaster, politically. He allowed his opponents to define who he was, especially to lower-information voters, at will. He "accomplished" this, in part, by refusing to do anything other than ignore or laugh at these types of things.

A good rule of thumb, politically, would be:

1) What would Bush do?

2) Do the exact opposite.

I suggest you turn away, as Trump and his henchmen are going to take a lot of people to the woodshed.

If this little dustup upsets you, turn away, or prepare to be totally appalled at the amount of blood that’s on it’s way

Bush ignored attacks on him, on his political allies, and on our servicemen, even those who gave limb and life.

He stood by as those men, and their families, were savaged by these same kind of people Trump is fighting.

Bush is a poor standard to use.
