President Barack Obama on Friday welcomed the Supreme Court decision to give same-sex couples the right to marry. In a speech in the Rose Garden, Obama called the ruling justice "with a thunderbolt." The president acknowledged that many Americans have religious objections to the high-court decision. "Today should also give us hope that the many issues we grapple, often painfully, real change is possible," he said. The president said the ruling was the result of small acts of courage by ordinary Americans that made the country realize that "love is love."

In several States citizens have followed the legal procedures required in that State, procedures enacted by the elected legislature, to have placed before the voters a proposed amendment to the State Constitution. To have such a proposed amendment placed on the ballot is no small undertaking, typically requiring a large number of signatures collected in each district. The proposed amendment must then be adopted by the voters, typically with a requirement that 60% or more voters must approve for the amendment to be adopted.
Throughout history in every major society marriage has been between man and woman, or man and women. Now comes a novel definition. No advocate of this novel definition has followed the laws enacted by the elected legislature to have this novel definition incorporated into the laws. Instead they have claimed that they have been deprived of a right.
The advocates of this novel definition have not been deprived of any right.
This novel definition has been imposed upon Society by small number of persons who abuse the power vested in their Office.
Unelected persons beyond control of the People imposing novelties upon Society is not "justice" - it is tyranny!

I shudder to think about the outcome of the next 2nd Amendment case in SCOTUS.
I have heard that dems are always against gay marriage until it polls over 50%. Then they have always been a supporter and we are mis-remembering that they were against it in the past.

Justice? Society turned upside down for a minority of perverts is justice? There will be a day of reckoning. And it very may will begin with a thunderbolt. God help us.
