The one silver lining, and many here will disagree, is that as we (conservatives) lose more of these social arguments, there are fewer such wedge issues for them to use. While I adamantly disagree with Haley’s decision about the flag, she has effectively stripped the left of another issue to run on. No more gay rights, no more healthcare as a right, no more flag, abortion has been settled law for a while. Sooner or later they run out of crap to sling.

Don't worry, the leftists always have class warfare and the Republicans hate old people and children arguments to dust off in every election.

Yeah, but eventually you start getting to areas that are less based on religious beliefs and “tradition” and start hitting people where they actually care. Gay marriage, for most, is a meh issue... They care but don’t really care. You start taking more money from their paychecks, then you have issues.
