The Supreme Court is not even remotely about justice. It is purely political, and it is the best reason for a convention of the states.
If they’re going to be political, then they might as well run for a term-limited office.
The exact opposite effect from the Founders’ intent has happened with them. (Helped along tremendously by the 17th amendment). Rather than tenure allowing them to be above politics, they have become purely political, and then they hang around for life.
Levin is right: Convention of the States to amend the Constitution. The nation is being lost anyway, so why not go for a hail Mary. We need only 13 states to prevent a truly egregious amendment from being passed.
If Congress really wanted to fix this they could just pass a law prohibiting the Federal Government from subsidizing any individual who did not buy their insurance from the “individual state of their residency”.
They could also make the whole thing unconstitutional by simply amending the law to provide for a “penalty which will not be considered a tax” for failure to comply.
Congress doesn’t want to undo Obamacare. All this protesting is nothing but Kabuki Theater.
Congress has fully surrendered to the Obama agenda.
The Republic no longer exists. We are officially a dictatorship backed by a feckless congress and a compliant judiciary.
At this point everything every politician says about repealing Obamacare is just empty rhetoric. It ain’t gonna happen.
But since we now live in a dictatorship, maybe we can elect a “conservative” dictator.
