They make this HUGE announcement when in fact what they’ll much later turn over is NOTHING:
It’s designed to discredit the people who get their hopes up and hype the story.
Same as during the video deposition of Bill Clinton during the Monica Mess:
“Ooooh, man, you’ll NEVER believe it when u see it, HE TURNS PURPLE WITH RAGE and starts sputtering....!!!!”
When in fact he was calm the ENTIRE time.
It’s a *dangle* to make the nibblers look stupid so later their accolytes don’t pay them any more attention.
You are probably. I remember that was a standard Bill Clinton tactic to make right-wing reporters look ridiculous.
