Supreme Court Health Care Ruling: Ted Cruz Calls Justices 'Robed Houdinis,'...

Sen. Ted Cruz isn’t happy with the Supreme Court. Reacting to the King v. Burwell decision handed down Thursday, the Republican presidential candidate and senator from Texas called the health care ruling “judicial activism” and agreed with Justice Antonin Scalia’s dissent that the health care law should be renamed ‘SCOTUScare’ from ‘Obamacare.’

“As Justice Scalia rightfully put it: words no longer have meaning,” Cruz, a lawyer who has litigated before the Supreme Court and started his career as a law clerk for former Chief Justice William Rehnquist, protested from the Senate floor. “Today’s decision in King vs. Burwell is judicial activism, plain and simple.” Cruz praised Rehnquist's Court, a sentiment that he obviously did not feel for the Court of Chief Justice John Roberts, whom Cruz recruited to the legal team of President George W. Bush in 2000 before Roberts was a justice on the Court.

Cruz said that the two landmark decisions -- the first coming in 2012 -- to support the Affordable Care Act were acts of magic on the part of the Supreme Court justices. “The first time the court ignored federal law and magically transformed a statutory penalty into a tax. Today, these robed Houdinis have transmogrified a federal exchange into an exchange, quote ‘established by the state.’”

Cruz supported Roberts for the SCOTUS nomination.

That was back in the day when Roberts was a conservative. Since then Roberts has shifted a lot to the left on us, not unlike Boehner and McConnell. Hang in there TED! And stay conservative.

Ted Crus SHOULD be stating, in no uncertain terms, that Chief Justice Roberts had better hope he, ted, doesn’t get elected, because if he does, the FIRST line of action will be to bring impeachment against Roberts for treason- or at least for dereliction of duty, and violation of oath to uphold the constitution and the rule of law

[[These “justices” start with the outcome they want, then go about building whatever distortions of law and language are necessary to justify it.]]

Which is precisely why they should be impeached for violating their oath- Will Ted have enough integrity to call for impeachment? Because that is exactly what NEEDS to happen IF we are to keep what little integrity and rule of law we now have left

Absolutely correct Sen. Cruz! However, until you recognize and have courage enough to recognize that *-money-from-thin-air-* is nothing short of: magic; conjuring; sorcery, we still have a ways to go. You are growing into a fine man.
