The Gang of Seven refers to a group of freshmen Republican U.S. Representatives, elected to serve in the 102nd Congress in 1990.
The group loudly condemned the House banking scandal and the Congressional Post Office scandal, forcing the congressional leadership to address the issues by ensuring the incidents stayed in the media and public eye.
The group also criticized other Congressional perks, such as congressional subsidies for the Capitol Barbershop and Senate Restaurant. Two members of this group, Jim Nussle and John Boehner, were also key drafters of the Contract with America, which along with the banking and post office scandals helped the Republicans take control of the House in the 1994 elections.,,
OK. I HAD to look this one up. Kitty Dukakis is listed as his mother, but she isn’t his mother. She was married to Chaffetz’ father and had a child and then divorced Chaffetz. She took the child with her and married Dukakis and that child changed his name from Chaffetz to Dukakis. Jason Chaffetz is the son of the elder Chaffetz and his second wife. Clear? It wasn’t easy to figure out, but Kitty Dukakis is NOT Jason Chaffetz mother. Or, technically, even his step-mother; she is his half-brother’s mother. I know, clear as mud.
What a POS!
For whatever good it will do, I have today called each of the Reps mentioned in this article and told their staff that we appreciate their stand. We don’t appreciate them getting booted from leadership roles. Money will flow to their re-election campaigns from lots of conservatives’ pockets if GOP-e tries to primary them.
Hope you guys will remember them if they ever need our help. We have to “have their backs” when snakes are afoot.

If this group of 40 conservatives voted as a unanimous block in all votes they could be a severe thorn in Boners and his corrupt cronies sides. If they held together they could disrupt and expose even more the corruption that goes on in the Congress in both parties.
By hanging together they would force Boner to acquiesce to their demands or have to sidle up to that hag Pelosi to win votes. That is when the conservatives should reach out to the radical left and vote to block Boner and Pelosi’s shenanigans.
It would take discipline and the tea party stepping up to support this group with money and effort. If they fail to hang together Boner will divide and conquer being primaried out by liberal Republicans or buy each of them out.
They can hang together or separately...
Lynn Jenkins wants to have a career in D.C. among the power brokers. It’s a much better gig than having to work for a living and live in Kansas. She won’t be back whether she is reelected or defeated. Her Democrat predecessor was appointed to a SES position at the VA. Whoo Hoo!
Sounds like Renee Elmers, another liberal republican member of Congress. What a failure she is on every level.
She votes against the citizens of North Carolina every single chance she gets. She votes for big budget deficits, for unlimited immigration, and anything else the GOP Elite wants her to vote for.
Jenkins think that both she and Boehner are conservatives
I thought it strange, but got tied up at work and forgot about it.
I like Jason Chaffetz when I see in the the hearings but I don't like him being one of Boehner's goons.
A lot of conservatives are like abused spouses: 'If I treat him nicer he won't hit me any more.' Me, I haven't voted for a Pubbie for president since 2000.
