I grew up in Berks County, and I have never met anyone that actually stayed in the Penn View Motel! I thought it was the kind of place where you paid by the hour!
One morning I went to leave for work and somehow, I got locked INSIDE my room. I called the front desk and they said I had to wait for the maintenance guy to show up...That’s how screwed up things were there. There was a lot of crime going down at night, so I figured that if I slept with my head at the foot of the bed, I would be less likely to be killed by any stray bullets coming through. Almost all of Reading, PA is a mess. Tons of illegals and other undesireable types living there on taxpayer dough.
