Yes, he took cold in the chapel at Washington & Lee. Some people, I think, suspect he died of a stroke. Years ago, when I visited W&L, a docent called me “a Yankee” in a nasty way. Last year, they couldn’t have been sweeter or kinder. Beautiful campus.
