SCOTUS said that the state should have final say on what was appropriate for personalized license plates. Everything that I’ve ever seen regarding personalized license plates has affirmed that they have the discretion to determine what is appropriate and what is not. Propriety is a subjective critter and there are always going to be those who don’t get what they want.
