Here's my 2 cents on this matter:
Riding Harleys since I was 17, with a break in Navy years, and then again up until a couple years ago when I sold my Wide Glide.

Two things I've learned about motorcycle clubs.
1. The vast majority are good fun decent citizens that come from all walks of life and never cause problems, witness yearly Rolling Thunder. They may look imposing, but unless they are wearing a patch, they are mostly good ole boys looking to ride and party.
2. Anyone who sports a 1% badge should be avoided at all costs. Every time I went to a biker event, if the 1%ers showed up, I left. There is reason they are called 1%ers. They are mean, vicious, cruel, territorial, drug-dealing outlaws. Watch the History Channel Gangland series for conformation which has under-cover LEO infiltrators describing just how bad they can be.

I agree with your post but from what I see there are motorcycle clubs and riding clubs. The motorcycle clubs wear the MC patch and are the bad actors.
