Well, well, well. Looks like those of us who called Ted Cruz on the carpet over his stupid vote for TPA were right all along.
Ted listened to the criticism, tasted the crap sandwich he voted for and reversed course.
What are all those Ted Cruz supporting freepers who said TPA was the best thing since the tearing down of the Berlin wall going to say now?
When your candidate goes off the reservation, you have to call him on the carpet. You can’t just sit there and pretend every stupid move they make is brilliant.
I e-mailed Ted Cruz and left posts on his Facebook page several times to tell him what a stupid decision it was to support TPA and apparently rather than listening to his sycophants here who refused to think for themselves and call Ted on the carpet, he listened to his critics.
Are you Ted Cruz supporters who told us TPA was wonderful going to support Ted Cruz for this? Or can you do the right thing yourself and admit you were wrong?
It will be interesting to see.
Yup, and on every single one of those threads, those of us who refused to drink the GOP-E kool-aid were subjected to vitriol that was vicious even by FR standards. I can’t count how many times I was called a troll or worse during those arguments.
Those muffled cries you hear are coming from under the bus tires that Cruz threw his FR bots under. They did their best to defend the indefensible in the creepiest most annoying way possible and all they got were tire tread imprints.
Well, it is possible that they were supporters of Obama having the authority to bypass Congress. And it's also possible they worked for or owned businesses that would be among the few that will benefit.
You obviously have reading comprehension issues....
Cruz supported the original TPA, but per his words, EXTRA items were added by the powers that be that made him reconsider.
That is fair. So, like I predicted, this “change” by Cruz wouldn’t be good enough for the trolls.
Question...where is Perry and Walker on this new TPA?
And the worse of it is, Cruz helped pass TPA in the house with his Op-Ed. TAA/TPA was our chance to kill TPP for good. Not good.
At least he saw the light. If it fails to pass the Senate, he may have saved his nomination. If not, he is toast.
Jeff Sessions is an insightful and brilliant man.
He gave all these Senators a way out with his "revelations" on matters that everyone knew about already.
Personally, I don't believe ALL the Cruz supporters were wrong. I believe they were endeavoring to put the most conservative man in the office, near as they could tell.
And I believe Ted Cruz deceived them and left THEM holding the bag. There were still supporters on this forum advocating for TPA at the moment Cruz released his opposition.
A filthy and dastardly betrayal.
Well said. As for me, I am done voting.
I just hung on and waited, but it seemed my favorite candidate was wrong. I just didn’t understand the trade agreements enough to make an educated decision.
But here we have a good sign, actually: a leader who responds to sound reasoning from good people. That means Cruz is not a narcissist. That is one good sign.
