Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., called on GOP lawmakers to block a "Fast Track" trade bill on Tuesday that President Obama hopes to finalize in order to secure a string of new trade pacts.
Sessions, one of the Senate's staunchest opponents of the Trade Promotion Authority legislation, or TPA, said new trade deals threaten to cause further economic damage and job loss in the United States and could lead to a back-door deal with China later on.
Approval of TPA will give President Obama expedited power to secure new trade deals, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership with 11 Pacific Rim nations, or TPP. But Sessions said in his letter that Obama has not spelled out how the U.S. economy might change if the TPP were approved, and that Obama is looking to inject environmental issues into the agreement.

He said it was a disaster.
Rush has condemned the current trade bills many times.
I agree with you 100%. But watch out for sarcastic remarks for taking your position. I’ve been slammed for similar comments. I wanted so much to love Cruze but why did he have to ruin it with that vote?
“You know there has to be trojan horses embedded in it everywhere.”
The Obama administration has been working on it for six years. Obama salivates over this bill every time he mentions it. Cruz wants to grant Obama “enormous” power. Where does that place Cruz?
“Theres enough disagreement over details as it is”
The Obama administration has worked on this bill for six years (TPP). Obama wants it desperately. Isn’t that a significant detail for you?
It is very significant. Yes. Why do you ask?
McConnell eyes victory

Rush is against Obamatrade
poor Jeff—a great statesman, on the mark with every issue, even a throwback to the Framers—yet he might as well be named Jeremiah or Cassandra as far as the moribund GOP is concerned.
The GOP Leadership is betraying the conservative base again!
I think he may be the last one.
One man cursing the wind.
Ted Cruz is happy to oblige Obama.
Sessions and Trump are clearly against.
Ante up ladies and gentlemen. The Ante is enormous and there is no limit.

Since they won’t spell it out I really don’t know what specific powers it gives Obama (or other benefactors). All I hear are rumors.
Cruz is not listening to us. He is listening to his big donors. They all do.
I thought he had more guts that this. I’ve not committed any money to any one of them so far, waiting for more dirt to shake out. I will NOT donate a dime to the National GOP RINO supporters.
My 2 RINO TN senators are voting pro on the trade bill. 1 just was re-elected and in his 70’s so he has no worries, the other Corker is so dratted rich, no one can out spend him for re-election in 2016. Pilot Oil.
I have to Rush espouse the “benefits” of free trade for decades. So any thing he says now must be taken with a grain of salt.
Were in active discussion on TPA, said McConnell, adding, Its an enormous grant of power, obviously, from a Republican Congress to a Democratic president, but thats how much we believe in trade as an important part of Americas economy.

That is enough to alarm anyone, except Cruz and his fellow Republicans.

Trump, Huckabee, Fiorina, Jindal, are against ObamaTrade.
Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) did not vote but was against TPA.
I don’t know how Sen. Sessions voted. Does anyone here
know?
Senate Republicans who voted against the measure include: Susan Collins (ME), Ted Cruz (TX), Jeff Sessions (AL) and Richard Shelby (AL)
It looks like Sen Ted Cruz voted against it : )
but it passes anyway : (
