To be strictly honest about this situation, I can see where the NAACP would be willing to accept this woman as a black person because of the ONE DROP OF NEGRO BLOOD rule that has existed since pre-civil war days. The rule says that if a person has one drop of black blood in their pedigree, they are considered black.

With her spray tan and her hair weave she could easily convince them that she qualified. They would be none the wiser unless they did a genealogical search of her family tree. But why would they do that? What person in their right mind would fake being black?

“...The rule says that if a person has one drop of black blood in their pedigree, they are considered black.”

Bingo, all she had to do was tell them about the blood transfusion she got when she got that bad burn from the curling iron!

In the musical Showboat, a mulatto singer is passing as white. A rival outs her and the police come to arrest her for miscegenation, sex between the races. The mulatto woman’s white boyfriend secretly pricks his finger with hers and swears to the cops, I have Negro blood in me.
