The Biker Battle of Twin Peaks: What Was That All About?
Newsweek ^ | May 21, 2015 | Dana Goldstein

Posted on 06/22/2015 4:15:27 PM PDT by Prolixus

If you thought violent biker gangs were a relic of the Altamont era, the shootout at a Waco, Texas, restaurant on May 17 might have come as a shock.

A long-simmering beef between the Bandidos and Cossacks boiled over into gunfire. When police arrived at the scene, gang members shot at them too, leaving nine bikers dead, 18 people injured, and 170 suspects in police custody. Over 100 weapons have been confiscated.

The scale of this incident dwarfs a typical urban gang confrontation, says Harold Pollack, co-director of the University of Chicago Crime Lab and an expert on gangs and guns. We talked to Pollack about why biker gang violence typically gets so little attention. He believes the Waco incident confounds our expectations regarding the race and geographic location of people who perpetrate crime, causing us to see biker gangs as more of a “curiosity” than a threat.

"The same group that organized a biker meeting in Texas that ended in violence has received a proclamation from the Waco City Council designating May as "Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Month."

The City Council issued the proclamation two days after the deadly biker shootout at a Waco restaurant."

A meeting of a couple hundred bikers?

No big deal.

So much talk over this thing, that only heaven knows what happened.

The confrontation alleged to have happened here seems almost beyond belief. This was a large group from a major gang that reportedly donned another gang’s regalia. Why, on this green earth, should that EVER happen. That’s not how a gang accepts new members. Nor does it sound like a plausible affront unless the persons who did it were well known.

Someone talked someone into doing it. I’d want to know who. Whoever came up with that whopper is tantamount to a murderer.

So therefore, the only thing in your view that "says" these guys engage in drug dealing, extortion, theft, prostitution, and rape are insignia and emblems they wear legally on their clothing but which insignia "biker gang experts" in law enforcement insist to the MSM and anyone who believes them mean the wearers engage in drug dealing, extortion, theft, prostitution, and rape.

How many of the 177 arrested criminals who engage in drug dealing, extortion, theft, prostitution, and rape actually had criminal records?

Since only ONE THIRD even had arrest records which included relatively minor charges of piddling nature compared to drug dealing, extortion, theft, prostitution, and rape, it means that:

Texas police are the most inept amateur boobs that they can arrest only so very few even when said "perps" are wearing signs on their back BROADCASTING their criminal intent,

... OR ...

... these criminals engaging in drug dealing, extortion, theft, prostitution, and rape are incredibly skilled, wiley, clever, and resourceful to have outsmarted competent law enforcement even when they are wearing signs on their back BROADCASTING their criminal intent.

THAT is what you are saying, dear.

Ooh that would be rich, if there was a wink-wink between the Administration of Obamination and the Bandidos.

Got a source? Have not seen that reported. Comm boxes do not count as credible.

“Today, biker gangs still act as a sort of private militia that police can’t always control,”

I would say that the private media is the mouthpiece of an Orwellian government that will say anything for a vote or to cancel out the truth.

It surely already is the people who want the Orwellian government.

Statists not statistics (bleepin’ auto spell)

This is the MSM version of events.

They’ve completely ignored the Waco PD’s admission that three of their officers fired 12 rounds from high powered assault rifles into a shopping center parking lot.

Even avowed statists would take exception to the police shooting if it meant having to dive for cover while eating their Sunday brunch huevos rancheros.

Why do you think they sold the magazine for one dollar? It is not even worth that now. It is and always has been, along with Time, just a left wing party line rag.

Everybody does realize the source article is from a month ago, right? A lot of the initial story has changed since then. Members from both sides of the biker fight have claimed the shooting started with the bikers. Of course they blame each other, but that is to be expected.

Things are a bit different in Colorado with a bikers pig roast for Ramadan.

I dunno know about that. I have seen a bunch on the threads who would scream

"Thank you Sir! May I have another?!"

Why else would you wear the insignia? Do they wear Nazi paraphernalia to make a fashion statement? Does Jenner dress as a woman to make a fashion statement? No. There is something fundamentally wrong with him. What, in your opinion, is the primary purpose of the Angels, Mongols, Henchmen, etc? From my experience, it is illegal activity. I know a couple of women who were girlfriends of members who died. They had to go through a procedure to be released. They were slaves to the gang. If you aren’t a member of a criminal gang, and it is safe to say the Hell’s Angels are a criminal gang, why would you want to look or be like them. Same reason Jenner dresses as a woman; there is something fundamentally wrong.

Plenty of bad guys are clearly labeled.

I have been acquainted with a few of these guys in the past and there is no way I’d ever believe they were good guys at heart.

Waco suffers, IMHO, from being on I35 between Dallas/Fort Worth and Austin/San Antonio.

But they didn’t ride past police. You just read it, “police arrived on the scene” AFTER the shooting...

Where are the trolls?

For that matter, “still no coroner’s report...”

So we all read it right there. Newsweek. From a “professional” journalist. Not some scuzzy blogger sitting in his mom’s basement. Serious deviation from the version by the Waco PD. I wonder why? (Not really). Notice this answers the question I have asked for weeks now. Who thought setting up a police rifle range in a public place was a good idea? Well, of course no one, because the police arrived AFTER the shooting. You trolls still wanna accuse me of being buddies with biker scum? Just who is it YOU are being buddies with?
