Hate, yes. But crime? No, not at all. The First Amendment protected him, so ironically Innes Randolph was protected by that very Constitution he hated so much. And, more irony, he also spent the rest of his post-war life making a very good living in the Republic he detested. Like so many Rebs then and now, he talked a good game but when push came to shove he stayed right in the good ol' USA.
