Could never understand the hatred over a Confederate battle flag. It was never flown over the first slave ship that brought blacks to America. That flag was Old Glory. It was never proudly held high by soldiers as they massacred the plains Indian wholesale for years and years. That flag was Old Glory. Old Glory was also the preferred flag of the KKK. Hell, the CSA battle flag, or more appropriately the Second National, is not even the official flag of the Confederacy, it was just one of many battle flags.
Actually only about 4% of the ships carrying slaves to America held American registry. And a few of those were owned and run by southerners. Who cares? The reason why so much antipathy for the CBF is because, unlike the United States flag, it represents a movement that fought to preserve and expand slavery at a time with the civilized world was turning away from it.
