Back to the topic of this thread, I want, and expect, the people responsible for keeping us safe to have the most kick-ass technology available, regardless of how they get it.

Any alphabet agency has the potential to misuse their tools, and if they do they must be held accountable, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't have the tools.
