You’re confusing outlawing guns with ridding society of guns. Rove said that a society without guns would be a society without gun violence. That is obviously true on the face of it. Rove also said you couldn’t rid society of guns.

Easy. One does what any nimble politician does and answer the question one would prefer had been asked: Simply state that government regulating guns to eliminate gun violence is likely to result in more gun violence. The correct thing to do is to reverse leftist cultural policies that mass produce violent psychotics, dependents, and other misfits.
That's how it's done.
