I thought they were supposed to go by poll numbers and have two debates, first tier and second tier.
consultants like rove got us into this mess. I say let the Donald in the debates.

If they want Trump barred then I would vote for him on that reason alone.
I agree with you. I have made it abundantly clear that I think that Trump is King of the Idiots. However ... if he runs he should get to debate if he meets the criteria. Period.
It wouldn’t say much for our field if they can’t deal with Donald in a debate, and do it quite well.
How embarrassing to run him off after the tier rules have been set already, although it will be probably be the conservatives who are hurt by increasingly splintered support. AGAIN.
Who benefits and who loses?

A 3rd party Trump Oprah ticket might actually garner quite a few votes; 18% I’d guess which is enough to effect the election. I’m not sure if that is about what Perot got.
14 Walter Mitty’s and one plain speaker
God forbid !
Trump may be a clown, but he’s quite dangerous to the GOP, whether they allow him in, or show him the blackball. If he’s in he says stuff, quite a lot of it complete nonsense, but some of it way too close to the truth about the GOPe for their comfort. If he’s out he’s a self-financing independent threat. At least for awhile until he qualifies for state primary ballots and thereafter runs afoul of the many sore-loser laws if he tries to run in the general outside the Republican Party.
By the way, the import of my last post is that they really have no practical choice but to let him in.
With more than 3 candidates the only information we will learn is which candidates the moderator likes.

So says the CURRENT Political Director of the Bush campaign.
What else does anyone need to know?
Trump has turned the 2016 race into an election between him and Washington DC.
Yea, I bet they do...
Ahh the Donald. Finally the right has a candidate that matches Hilary’s stature, intellect, and popularity.
He’ll raise questions the GOP cowards (yes, ALL of them) wouldn’t talk about if he weren’t there.
The fact that the consultants want him excluded is reason alone that he must be in the debates. It will be great!
Trump will buy airtime and do his own show if the GOP doesn’t include him.
I would like a rule that if you have a history of running losing campaigns, which Rove certainly has, you should be barred from giving any advice on how to run a winning campaign, or more correctly how to run a losing campaign.
