Ukraine should have joined NATO as soon as it’s government changed.

That's not how acceptance into NATO works...thankfully.

Join an alliance and your enemy will ATTACK you due to added strength or whatever.

Do NOT join such an alliance, any your enemy becomes your best bosom buddy.
