Churches do not ban the carry in most cases, it is the state that does. No one at any church I have been to in the south does anything to stop Concealed carry in or on the grounds of the Church. The State does not have door guards at churches, either.

The penalty for first offense , if it goes that far, is a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket.

My understanding is the church grounds are private property and can ban guns at the door...
My philosophy (as well as others I worship with) on this is “don’t ask, don’t tell”...
