Now, were not saying this is an actual explanation of how the tax system works, but for us hardworking taxpayers, this is pretty much an actual explanation of how the tax system works. We know for sure that youll agree.
Can you point me to that part of the tax code? Consider that the top ten percent pay well over half the taxes. Are they missing those deductions you think they can take?
This example left out the last step: The diners all rioted and burned down the restaurant in protest.
They did reduce the tax rates and the deductions. But, as soon a the changes became law the lobbysts came back and started to lobby for loopholes and these same loopholes were passed. So the idea of fewer loopholes and lower taxes was completely nullified. More the problem was that the more we cut taxes on the wealthy the less of a problem they had with spending so spending became out of controls since wealthy corporate country clubbers run the GOP and wealthy lib gentries control the Demowit party. Now we have a nearly insolvent country. So now when conservatives want somebody who will stand up for conservative principles we find that the establishment country clubbers are pointing out that they are working with the Dems to “get things done”. Spending money and getting cheap labor through immigration along with tax cuts seem to be a perect solution for them does it not? But, in the end this will be a disaster and of course the corporate media will blame us for what they did just like the housing crises.
Whatever section that covers business meals. Ethical and legal? No, but it happens all the time.
BTT.
And you know this how?
Know what? You’ll have to be less vague.
That “lot’s of people” write off non business meals.
I know it because I have worked in medical field service for about 20 years and have spent a lot of time around salesmen.
So your conclusion is that all or most sales people in the medical field cheat on their taxes?
That’s not even close to what I said. You are either nit-picking over minutia, or you’re obtuse. I’ve known dozens of sales and service personnel over the past 2 decades. They love to talk and certain people, for whatever reason, like to boast about beating the system. More than half that I’ve known have relayed some type of tale like that. Maybe it was BS, I don’t know. They number in the many. Good enough?
Just quoting your post “It happens all the time”
It does and not just in my field. Audits happen frequently. Some are random, some for cause. This shouldn’t be news to you.
“Thats one of the things Reagan partly fixed”
The “tax simplification act” of 1986 was the biggest tax INCREASE ever!
Tax REVENUE increase, yes!
It wiped out 30 years of tax plnning and was the first year in 20 years that I had to pay taxes and it’s cost me a bunch ever since.
That’s because you are a rich ba$t@@d!
Just kidding. ;-)
