I guess you don’t know the difference between a sewing plant and a textile mill.

Lol, I absolutely know the difference and have been through both types. That's why I used the term 'sewing factory' to clearly distinguish from textile mills that produce various fabrics.

You sure made youself look foolish in thinking you were making some brilliant correction. Lol.

No, you did! Government regulations didn’t put your “sewing factory” out of business, foreign competition did. But the textile mills did have “government help” (along with foreign competition) to put them out of business. Same for shoe factories, and a lot of other industries that posed “environmental issues.” Go drive around New England and look at all the old mills that are empty.
