the he ought to shut his mouth about imports and China, and focus on why industry finds it impossible to operate in our regulatory environment.

No, he needs to talk about the past trade deals that caused some many factories and jobs to leave the US. And, as much as some of you love blame it all on regulation, the biggest factor was and still is cheap labor. Sewing plants did not leave the US, most of them twenty and more years ago, because of the reglatory environment.

And now even China has become too expensive at around $3.00 per hour, so many clothing and shoe companies are leaving China for Vietnam, Cambodia, Bangladesh, etc. Because of the ongoing quest for the cheapest available labor.

I doubt you could even build a textile mill in the US anymore. You couldn’t get it past the EPA.
