NumbersUSA Director of Government Relations Rosemary Jenks stated that if fast-track passed, Congress would not reject the Trade in Services Agreement, which could make the US “open up it’s immigration laws” on Monday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”
Jenks said, “We have had Ambassador Froman, the US Trade Rep., go to Congress on multiple occasions and assure members of Congress that the United States is not negotiating immigration in TPP, the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Well, we know that there is in fact an immigration chapter in TPP, but it looks relatively harmless. What he failed to tell us, and members of Congress, is this whole other agreement, that is largely about immigration, the TiSA, the Trade in Services Agreement, it’s about the movement of people across borders to perform services. And, it’s all services....
In other words, take jobs from Americans....
Jenks added that Ryan’s argument that fast-track would put Congress “in the driver’s seat,” and that “you cannot put any immigration in here, you can’t put any climate change in a trade agreement” wasn’t true, although she pointed out that Ryan could think that “temporary entrance guest workers are not immigrants.”

In a situation where the details are hidden, I don’t know who to trust. That is why the details should be shown, so that we can KNOW what is going on.
All this to defend Ted Cruz, who contradicted himself on TPA from one month to the next.
It is sad to see FReepers stoop this low.
Just admit Cruz threw in with the establishment on this issue and just leave it at that.
It does not disqualify him from being a good POTUS....it is just another piece of his personality we should know before we vote for him.

That’s misleading. It will all be one big package that only needs 51 votes. No matter how bad it is, it will pass. Every “free trade “ agreement so far has been a loser for the US and they all passed.
Bingo! As long as the TPP text is secret and Conservative senators and congressmen disagree about its scope and content from their cursory readings, I will trust no one's interpretation. Declassify it all for open debate or else throw it out!

Jenks has no personal knowledge of what is contained in the unfinished TPP document, she is solely dependent and echoing dubious sources like Wikileaks.

Have you seen the final TPP proposed agreement? No, I didn’t think so.
TPP has been in negotiation since 2009. It is still being negotiated and will continue to be negotiated long after TPA is approved or rejected.
You’re entitled to your opinions.
Even after the TPP is finalized, who knows if the peasants will be allowed to see it? Are you surprised?
