KOKOMO, Ind. - Police in Kokomo are investigating the fatal shooting of a robbery suspect by a police officer at a gas station southeast of the city.
Police say a ten-year veteran of the Kokomo Police Department responded to the report of an armed robbery at the Casey's General Store at Dixon Road and Defenbaugh Street around 5:30 p.m. Friday. The officer got to the scene to find a female suspect pointing a handgun at the store clerk.
The officer ordered the suspect to drop the weapon, at which point, the woman pointed the gun at the officer. The officer fired shots, striking the suspect.
The officer then called for medical assistance for the suspect, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect's name is being withheld, pending notification of family members. The officer involved in the shooting also has not been identified.
No one else was reported injured at the scene.

I don't know the facts but if what the obituary says is true she was a religious girl. Makes you wonder. I don't know but somehow I think drugs may have been a factor. Or maybe she was going to run away and needed money. Sad all around.
Michelle Marie & Teresa Lynn
Can anyone rule out that there's a slight possibility this was driven by her home life?
Maybe when she got religious she could not handle her home life.
Damn Sherm
You’re starting to sound like me
Now an officer has to live with their choices. I'm not backing off
from my statement of psycho lesbians either.
Ye-uy (chai boy)- your insight is wonderful, as usual. Perhaps, a camera will be upon you, someday soon.
I believe it was.
I think this is a case of suicide by cop.
Thanks...I shoulda checked that name. The hubbub was that the family was well known.
I guess that explains their reasoning for withholding the name.
I may have been pretty close in my post 19. Don’t know yet but she does have a brother and with her Mom being an MD she probably had a pampered life.
Two mommas or a transgenderizing parent/dad/wpmanish and a real mom!
I just looked at Google again, and the link to the MDs website says....”This site may be hacked”.
Can’t say I’ve ever seen that before.
