The House this morning takes up the bill to authorize Obama to negotiate a Trans-Pacific trade deal. Despite the GOP leadership's support, conservatives may well defeat it: they fell by one vote short last night, on a procedural vote on the rule, that would have killed it. Call your congresscritters to vote NO, and post comments and links here if you wish
Phil Roe (TN-1) voted wrong last night. The local talker was calling attention this morning. When I called the DC office, I went to voice mail.
I thought Phil had learned his lesson on the CRomnibus. Let’s see if third time is the charm.
“keep up the skeer..”
Keep calling. I think we are winning. Fox covered up this Huge vote today. Fox is establishment Rino. I just turned them off. I will get all I need on the internet.
Remember to CALL YOUR REP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Obama has gone to the hill to twist arms. How often has he gone to Congress to lobby for a bill? That alone should be a neon red warning sign.
Called...voicemail.
E-mailed:
Congressman Allen,
I wanted to request that you vote “NO” on the upcoming House vote scheduled for today (regarding trade). The people of the United States have had enough of this back-room, “pass it before you read it” legislative process. This administration has shown, repeatedly, that it cannot be trusted and that it does not have the best interests of American citizens in mind. The fact that this president is so adamant in his support of this trade bill should immediately raise the red flag. We’ve heard it all before; how wonderful these sorts of legislation will be for the country (ObamaCare, amnesty, etc.). Now, we have the legislative branch ceding powers to the executive? Congress has no constitutional authority to do such an act.
Again, for the good of GA; for the good of the country, vote AGAINST this proposal in today’s vote.
Emailed my Rep at 4:30 am.
"I couldn't resist"
Again, Mr. Limbaugh is conspicuous by his absence this week. In the past his efforts played a major role in melting the phone lines and halting several very bad things.
Someone apparently told him to go and get lost this week.
Limbaugh is for the most part a traditional conservative who I suspect leans in favor of free trade so probably leans in favor of free trade agreements.
Rush needs to at minimum phone it in to his show.
Side note, I see that G.T. was a cosponsor of the bill they just passed that takes country of origin labeling off the things we eat.
HE'S DONE.... HE IS SOOOOO EFFING DONE. I don't care if politically unconnected, ignorant, obnoxious ME has to run as a representative, this guy, who VOTED FOR BOEHNER, is DONE.
Even if you lean in favor of free trade, you cannot lean in favor of gigantic, super-secret bills where we have to pass it to know what’s in it.
If this is such a great deal, make it public and let the American people debate it and decide.
Rush obviously decided to go golfing in Spain to avoid having to take a stand on this one.
It does not yet exist and when it does there will be 60 days for the public to see it.
Mitch McConnell smokescreen. They are NOT voting today on something that does not exist. Something is written in a bill, and it is being kept under tighter security than the Federal Employee Database. They are voting on something they do now wish us to see.
He has no balls then. At least Cruz has proven that he will not sacrifice principal to pacify the most shrill on the right.
Simple fact.
