Ted Cruz Channels Paul Ryan: 'A Lot of Misinformation' on Obamatrade That 'You Can Get on the [net]'
Breitbart ^ | 6/11/15 | Matthew Boyle

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)96%, a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, defended his decision to vote for Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) that would fast-track the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP), Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (T-TIP) and Trade in Services Agreement (TiSA)—among other deals—during a Thursday interview with the Hugh Hewitt radio program.

Hewitt started his line of questioning with coming out of a commercial. “Let’s take that opportunity, then, to go and talk about free trade—TPA, TPP, Export-Import Bank. Sen. Cruz, for clarity’s sake, can you quickly give us an overview on where you are on those three issues, as there’s quite a lot of confusion among conservative voters as to where different people are and why on each of those three issues.”

“Sure,” Cruz responded. “There is a lot of confusion and, unfortunately, a lot of misinformation you can get on the Internet that people are confused, so let’s explain what each of those three are.”

Cruz, by saying that, was essentially making the exact same claim—blaming the Internet for what he argues is “misinformation”—as House Ways and Means Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)60%. Ryan made the claim on Fox News earlier on Thursday in response to Breitbart News reporting highlighted by the massively influential Drudge Report. Ryan, with whom Cruz pushed Obamatrade in a Wall Street Journal op-ed in late April—one that’s been used by Speaker Rep. John Boehner (R-OH)40% to try to rally support for Obamatrade—has been essentially discredited by various false statements he’s made throughout this process.

That Cruz would use the same talking points as him is interesting and probably disappointing to many conservatives. That Boehner is using Cruz to push Obamatrade is probably even more disappointing to most conservatives... ...

Oh really? Remind me.

I do slam Zero Hedge, as I would any blog written by a character from the movie, Fight Club. So if I "disappeared," you didn't ping me. You're a failure.

I’m awesome in my near divinity.

Try not to feel much shame. As a lib you are immune. We all had a good laugh in your absence though.

Sure you did. Hey, I’m doing to “disappear” now. In the real world, it’s called going to bed because I work 60+ hrs/wk. Have a good laugh in my absence, half-pint.

You know, at some point we have to take responsibility for our situation. The whiney blamey stuff does nothing to move the ball forward.

You do realize it’s possible to make distinctions even between imperfect things, right? IOW, just because Romney isn’t Reagan, that doesn’t make him equivalent to Obama.

Of course not. His record in office shows he was every bit and more the liberal Obama was. That too is documented history. And it is reality.

Barry was at one time, in office, anti gay marriage. On record. Mitt could not even claim that. Their records were posted on the front page of FR for 6 years. There is no denying the item by item comparison.

You are right about taking responsibility. One group of us voted liberal and the other failed to stop them. That too is reality and if we repeat that, we deserve Hillary. Completely.

Admit that Mitt was a disaster lib, even if only to youeselves, stop supporting lesser evils and join us to elect a conservative to the right of a Rubio, not the left of a Perry. Then we can both STFU and elect one.

we need leaders to organize protests and demonstrations NOW. WE ARE LOSING OUR COUNTRY. how soon before FReepers are rounded up and sent off to prison

Do the risk/benefit analysis. Freepers are productive taxpayers and they are most unlikely to revolt, carry torches and pitchforks, or even swing the vote to a conservative leader. Once a firm law is passed they won't even be grumbling on the internet. But they will always, always support the existing government with their sweat and toil.

Might as well spray for a beneficial insect. Won't happen.

I do agree there should be demonstrations against losing our country, but...won't happen.

Submission. It ain't just a muslim thing.

Having listened to Cruz and having previously
(stupidly) supported him, Cruz is now a curse
on the Constitution and America.

If Cruz votes for this, he will be aligned
with Obama by 110%.

If the Bill is so great why don’t they debate it in open?

Fast track trade bills are never rejected by Congress.

If this gets through, everything else will pass.
